Taste of Asia is an Asian cuisine supplier based in Cape Town, South Africa.

The company has its roots as Magnolia Ship Suppliers, established in 1984. The family business grew rapidly from a small ship supplier (shipchandler) into a successful Asian cuisine supplier for many shops, restaurants and private buyers in South Africa. Steven and Linda Nessworthy later changed the company name from Magnolia Ship Suppliers to Taste of Japan.

With the introduction of many exciting culinary products from in and around Japan, including India, Singapore, Malaysia and China, Taste of Japan underwent a final name change and is now known as Taste of Asia.

Taste of Asia offers a comprehensive basket of Thai, Indian, Chinese, Japanese and Indonesian cooking products and utensils that are necessary for a true Asian eating experience. We offer a broad range of quality food products, Asian recipes and ingredients, kitchen utensils and crockery. Our products can be found in Woolworths, Pick ‘n Pay, Spar, Checkers and speciality food stores around South Africa.

Taste of Asia strives to provide customers with quality products and service; and with close to 1000 products to choose from, Taste of Asia offers their customers and clients the luxury of choice.

The most recent addition to the Taste of Asia experience is a new shop located in Plumstead, Cape Town at 69 Gabriel Road. Please feel free to visit the store and to browse through our selection of halaal, kosher, vegetarian, vegan and organic Asian food products. Our store offers drinks; including fruit juices, teas and alcoholic beverages, ingredients; including spice pastes, rice, noodles and tinned goods and cooking utensils; including knives, sushi rolling mats, chopsticks and bamboo steamers.
